  • Fluorocarbon coating for extruded aluminium and the aluminium sheet shall be a factory applied, oven baked finished based on kynar 500 (Polyvinylidence Fluoride - PVF2) as supplied by the Fluoropolymer Paint Manufacturers and coated by licensed Applicator.

     

  • Application of the PVF2 based on kynar 500 cannot be field applied. The coating shall be applied onto aluminium substrate already suitably pre-treated and dried as specified above.


     

  • The Fluorocarbon coating (3 coat system) consist of an inhibitive primer with a dry film thickness averaging 5 to 7 microns and a top coat (colour coat) with a minimum dry film thickness of 25 microns and a clear coat of Kynar 500 with a minimum dry film thickness of 10 to 20 microns.
     



     

     

     
  • The total minimum dry film thickness of the

     fluorocarbon coating shall be 40 microns.


     

  • The Fluorocarbon coating system shall meet or exceed the performance requirements of the AAMA 605.2 ¡°Specification for High Performance Organic Coating on Architectural Extrusions and Panels¡±.
