safety glass of which will hold together when shattered.
Produces Spider web cracking
pattern when impact cannot completely pierce the glass.
 
Manufacturing Process
- Laminated glass is manufactured by
joining two or more sheets of float glass with layers of
polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer.
- Under heat and pressure, two or more
sheets of glass are joined as a single construction.
Characteristic
- The PVB interlayer gives laminated
glass higher sound insulation property.
- When broken, PVB layer holds the broken
pieces together such that the glass does not fall apart.
